Former Pet of the Week residents who are still waiting for a home.

Every Sunday in the paper AFOC in rotation with other organizations will have a Pet of the Week featured. Many times people will see our sweet residents and call and a adoption will take place. Unfortunately sometimes that does not happen. Below we have former Pet of the Week residents who were not lucky enough to find a good home. We hope that someone will see them and love and take them into their hearts and homes.

Adopting a cat will not only give that cat a home but will make room in our shelter for a cat that is out in the elements with no food or water. If you have room in your heart please adopt.

Terrance is a loving silver gray tiger who was rescued from the Northend of Hartford. He likes to carry on a conversion with the volunteers. He is a sun worshipper(maybe not in this heat though). He always picks a window seat so he can enjoy his favorite pastime of watching the birds. He is definitely a lap cat

Jacob is a gray tiger with white paws and chest with very handsome markings. He is about a year and very frisky & playful. He was abandoned in New Britain. We believe he was probably someone's pet and sadly another case of what too often happens to kittens. It is a well know fact that once they are no longer little and cute they are dumped. He would not be suitable for young children. He enjoys his high scratching post and watching the bird feeders outside.

Mama Tina is the epitome of patience. She had a litter of kittens at the shelter in June of 2003, and they all found homes. But Mama Tina has been at the shelter since, waiting for a home of her own. She is a domestic short-hair pretty tuxedo. Once she feels comfortable with you she will sit on your lap. She needs time to adjust.

Azulia was a very frightened female when she first came to the shelter. She would just stay on the perch. She has come a long way and now enjoys the attention when the volunteers pet her. She has extra toes and a nice soft coat. She is especially pretty because of her two different colored eyes. She is a DLH white female about 1 year old, who has been spayed and up to date with all her shots

Cameron, Connie and Cara were rescued from behind a restaurant in Hartford. Their mother was living in the back and had many litters. The employees were able to find homes for most of them, but not all. They were born in March and are very attached to each other. They have been at the shelter since July 2004.

Miles is a DSH male.  He was frightened at first but  really has become a loving and friendly fellow. He loves his treats that the volunteers give him.

Kaylee & Kelly are sisters who were born late summer of 2004.  They were found at the railroad tracks in New Britain, abandoned and no mother cat to be found. They are very close and a little shy. Kaylee is a brown tabby who is blind in one eye. Kelly is a brown and golden tabby.
